Software for Writers
The Marshall Plan for
Novel Writing
Evan Marshall is a literary agent and novelist,
and this software is based on his best-selling book The
Marshall Plan for Novel Writing. It asks you to fill in
details, e.g your protagonist etc - and gives you prompts on
the sort of information to include.
Simply follow the process to fill in the
details, and at the end it gives you back a very comprehensive
template for your novel.
No more getting stuck half way through!
It's one of the pricier products at $149.00,
but it's very comprehensive. There's a money-back guarantee
too, so you can see if it's worth it before committing to
keeping it.

New
Novelist
New Novelist is a cheaper option at $54.99.
It's based around the Hero's
Journey and guides you to fill in the different
sections of your novel. It's a very well-respected software
which has sold over 55,000 copies.

Scrivener
Scrivener is available for Macs only, and so I
haven't been able to test it myself. I do know, though, that
it's a hugely well-thought of product. Here's a link to what writers have been saying
about it [link opens in new window].
It's very good value too, at only €39.95.
