Creative Writing Holiday
Next date: 6-13 September
If you're looking for a creative writing holiday, then look
no further. A writing holiday can be the best of all worlds:
time away from your daily life to refresh your soul somewhere
beautiful, learning terrific skills, and having fun and
laughter too.
What we're offering is a creative writing holiday with a
difference. Actually, with a number of differences.
The first difference in this writing holiday is that it's an
authentic Greek village, away from the tourist traps. Our hosts
will be Tove (who's from Norway originally) and Christos, her
Greek husband, and they're famous for the warmth of their
welcome. You'll be treated like honoured guests, not mere
paying clients.

Another difference is, if I may say so, what I'll be bringing
as a tutor for this course. As you can see from the rest of
this website, I'm passionate about creative writing and about
sharing what I have learned and discovered about this most
intriguing of crafts.
As an experienced writing tutor I'll be bringing those
skills to you, along with my own unique style of fun and
laughter, my ability to critique positively and gently, and my
talent at explaining concepts simply and easily.
Here's what Vanessa O'Loughlin, of
INKwell Writers has to say:
Tracy Culleton is an ideal facilitator for new and
aspiring authors principally because she was one herself before
winning the Open House/Poolbeg competition. She therefore
understands the needs and aspirations as well as the mistakes
made by new writers. Sympathetic, with a relaxed and easy
personality, she is extremely approachable and explains the
more technical areas of writing in an understandable and
accessible way. Her preparation for workshops is second to none
and I was very impressed with the huge effort she puts into
preparing course notes and exercises. Her EFT really does work
(and this from a total sceptic!) and gets participants
creativity flowing, 'unblocking' often previously unrecognised
areas of tension. I would recommend her highly and hope she
will be available to facilitate Inkwell workshops in the
future.
And here's what Torill Lauritson, participant on our course
in May, had to say:
"Tracy Culleton is a very good teacher. She is very
professional and has a huge knowledge in the art of writing.
She taught us a lot and was very inspiring and structured in
her lessons, all in an easy and humorous tone. She took a
serious interest in us as writers to be, and gave us individual
advice."
